Originally from the midwest, I am a New York City based psychotherapist with over a decade of experience working in the fields of psychotherapy, clinical social work, and holistic health coaching.
My work as a therapist is strongly informed by my clinical training and certification in Gestalt therapy, an orientation that uses mindfulness, promotes body awareness, and is ideal for creating greater relationship satisfaction. I hold a master’s degree in social work from the Smith College School for Social Work, and a bachelor’s degree from Bryn Mawr College. Additionally, my practice has been shaped by my background in community mental health, most recently with the Institute for Community Living as Program Director for an outpatient mental health program focused on providing person-centered and trauma-informed care.
My therapeutic style is grounded in the belief that authentic relationships are healing. I work collaboratively with clients to support their process of self-discovery in a safe, yet challenging space. I approach this work with openness and curiosity, and have been described as warm, sensitive, easy to talk to, and not afraid to laugh. My style is interactive and dynamic, incorporating an awareness of the past with a focus on the present. To hear more, please contact me by phone or email. A conversation is always the best way to see if work together may be a good fit.
